The hidden coastal peoples of Australia: Substimated Beach Destinations
Australia is famous for its impressive coast, which extends for more than 25,000 kilometers and has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Although popular places such as Bondi Beach and Surfers Paradise usually take prominence, there are innumerable hidden jewels that hope to be discovered. In this post, I will take you to a tour of the hidden beaches of Australia and the best coastal villages, perfect for an unusual trip in Australia. Let's discover them!
1. Mission Beach, Queensland
Location: Between Cairns and Townsville, Queensland.
Better time to visit: from May to October, when the weather is dry and warm.
Why visit it: with golden sands, tropical jungles that meet the sea and coral reef vibrant, it is the perfect escape for those looking for peace of mind. Walk the beach, take a boat to Dunk Island or explore the nearby Cassawary Coast. Mission Beach is the perfect place to rest and disconnect from the noisy city.
Local recommendation: Mission Beach is a town where you can do several activities and enjoy the beach. If you like chocolate, don't miss Charley's Chocolate Factory. You can also do rafting in Tully or look for famous cassawaries, always with caution.
2. Bingil Bay, Queensland
Location: A few kilometers north of Mission Beach, Queensland.
Best time to visit: from May to October.
Why visit it: This lovely beach town is ideal for a picnic under the palm trees and an afternoon of relationship is not recommended to ban, however you can handle a few minutes towards Mission Beach where they have areas designated to swim.
Local recommendation: Do not miss Bingil Cafe Local, famous for its delicious breakfasts and cozy atmosphere one of my favorites in Australia.
3. Mallocoota, Victoria
Location: Near the border between Victoria and Nueva Wales del Sur.
Best time to visit: spring and summer (from September to March).
Why visit it: its pristine beaches, crystalline waters and abundant wildlife make it a perfect place to practice kayak, fish and observe birds. The coastal walks are impressive. If you prefer rivers, you can lease a boat and explore Genoa River , where you will spend an incredible day touring and fish.
Local recommendation: If you want to see Koalas try to see them Double Creek Rainforest Loop, you would also find Kangooros in Mallocoota Golf Club, and if you are lucky you can see Goannas, Wombats if you visit some of the nearby parks.
4. Bay Bay, Western Australia
Location: In the Margaret River region, Western Australia.
Best time to visit: from November to April, to enjoy the Australian summer.
Why visit it: Bay Beach is a piece of sky with turquoise waters, white and soft sand, in addition to being surrounded by forest, this place is a gem that you should visit, whether you like the paddleboarding, the snorkel or simply relax Under the sun, this beach will not disappoint you.
Local recommendation : Do not miss visiting Eagle Bay Cerveceria where you will find handmade beers such as delicious local food or if you want to spend the day in the area I recommend you be prepared with snacks.
5. Moon Bay, South Australia
Location: In the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia.
Best time to visit: spring and summer (from September to March).
Why visit it: Moonta is a historic coastal town with a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a family vacation on the beach. The calm waters are ideal for swimming, while the spring is a hot point for fishing enthusiasts. Be sure to explore the rich mining history of the people's copper and its lovely local coffees.
Local recommendation : As in Chilenamate we love good food we recommend you visit The Smelter Cafe in Wallaroo, this local coffee offers a wide variety of coffees as well as delicious sandwich an unmissable if you are in that area.
6. Cape York, Far North Queensland
Location: Cape York is at the northern end of Queensland
Best time to visit: from May to October, during the dry season.
Why visit them: Cape Yorke is the last out of the common and my favorite, with rustic landscapes and intact beaches, dirt of crocodiles and wild animals, this place will give you a unique experience. To visit Cape York if or if you are going to need a 4x4 so you can reach the most iconic places such as Weipa, Mapoon, Bamaga and of its position the Tip of Australia. These little coastal peoples not only show you a different Australia, but are also home to indigenous communities that enrich the experience with their unique culture. From beautiful sunsets in Weipa, excellent places for fishing surroundings of Mapoon, and of course drink a beer in the pub further north of Australia Bamaga Tavern. 7. Cape Peron, Western Australia
Location : In Shark Bay, Western Australia.
Best time to visit : from April to October, when the weather is cooler and more pleasant.
Why visit it : part of the World Heritage of Shark Bay, Cape Peron offers a unique natural show with its red cliffs and turquoise waters. Enjoy its rich marine life, including dolphins, dugongos and turtles. It is a paradise for nature lovers.
